Taken the idea from Neon Genesis Evangelion, from like the last couple episodes of the series where Shinji has a ton of inner quarrels in his mind and how the only reason he pilots unit-01 is to be praised in the eyes of his father. Verticle line represents Shinji, horizontal is the Shinji outside of himself, and the bent vertical line represents his father.
